<image:title>The Workshop - “Why do you have so many pairs of scissors?”</image:title>
<image:caption>My all-time favorite scissors: Fiskars Classic Orange Scissors You know them, you love them, they’re always there for you: the classic orange scissors can do it all. These are the scissors I use for anything and everything, they are a critical tool to many of my projects and one of my best treasures. For cardboard projects: Cardboard scissors Have you ever tried and struggled to cut through a big piece of cardboard? It’s hard to fit the scissors in and cut at the correct angle? That’s where cardboard scissors save the day! I use these to make intricate cardboard projects - like the dragon costumes I made for my husband and I for Halloween.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Workshop - How To Make: Flower Hat - This year, one of my friends decided to host a rhyming party for her birthday - aka, come dressed as something that rhymes. After lots of internal debate - I considered Cherry Fairy, Racoon in the Moon, and Stitch Witch - I decided to create a costume to be a Lazy Daisy! Since I already have the perfect pajamas to create the “lazy” part from my Sleepy Time Tea Bear costumer last Halloween, all I needed to make was a daisy hat.</image:title>
<image:caption>I had been hanging on to a sun hat that I bought from a clearance rack for months that wasn’t quite my taste, so I was thrilled that it finally had the perfect purpose. This project only took a couple of hours, and now I have the most fun hat to wear to my friend’s party, but also to the botanic gardens, the Renaissance Festival, or just out and about in the summer!</image:caption>

<image:title>The Workshop - How To Make: Lilac Fairy Staff - The Renaissance Festival is my annual excuse to dress up as a fairy with my friends and spend too much money on fried food - aka my favorite time of year! This year I took inspiration for my outfit from the vintage flower fairies, specifically the Lilac Fairy. After seeing other creators make giant dandelions, I wanted to make a giant sprig of lilac.</image:title>
<image:caption>It wasn’t too heavy to carry, helped me make so many new friends, and served as a very easy way for my friends to identify me in a crowd - which is an excellent side benefit given how busy the Colorado Renaissance Festival has become in recent years! Now, I get to use my giant lilac as a whimsical piece of home decor in my workshop all year round.</image:caption>
